Installation details of MEWANT customized steering wheel cover
Step one: Check out whether your new steering wheel cover exactly matches the size of your steering wheel. Place the cover on your wheel and adjust the location until it fits. Make sure the edges line up. If it does not fit, please contact our customer services. If it does fit, we can move onto the second step.
Step two: Paste the double-sided adhesive. Take the cover off the wheel. Apply the adhesive on the back of the cover, and leave 5mm on the edge as an overlap. Replace the cover on the wheel. Check the position is accurate, readjust if not.
Step three: Stick the cover to the wheel using the adhesive tape. Begin with areas of the cover marked by the yellow dots (those at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock) and stick these down, then move to the blue dots, and finally the green. This process ensures the cover does not wrinkle, and the binding is smooth.
Step four: Use the yellow blade to fit the cover into hard-to-reach gaps and smooth the edges. While inserting the material into the gap, make sure that the adhesive rooms a “V_shape”, preventing the leather from tearing.
Step five: Sewing. Tie a small knot at the end of your thread. First, pierce the cover through the inner lining. The second stitch must go through both the layers, from the outer lining. Use the original thread of the cover (that which marks 5mm) to sew along the gap. Adjust the tightness as you go along.
Final step: When you finish your sewing, tie another knot to prevent the thread unraveling, or burn with a lighter.
